Pomegranate is thick skinned super seedy fruit with a bright red color, which is now being touted as the miracle fruit of scientific researchers. The name pomegranate is derived from the French word “pomegranate” or seeded apple.

Pomegranate comes from Iran to the Himalayas in northern India and was cultivated and naturalized throughout the Mediterranean region since ancient times.

Pomegranate is one of the symbols of Azerbaijan. Every year in October, a cultural festival held in Goychay, Azerbaijan, known as pomegranate festival Goychay. The festival of Azerbaijani cuisine fruit mostly pomegranates from Goychay, which is famous for its pomegranate growing industry.
